Committed to Making a Difference

Since 2016 The Village Keepers has been a proud partner of Kidz Express.

Founded in 1999, Kidz Expresss is a Chicago, Austin based non-profit organization. Kidz Express fosters a mentor-student program which allows students between the ages of 5 to 14 the opportunity to learn and display leadership qualities in a safe environment. This after school and summer school program offers a unique cross-age peer mentoring approach, specializing in academic enrichment, art, athletics, and wellness. Students throughout the neighborhood attend Kidz Express daily to obtain homework support and one-on-one tutoring opportunities.

The Village Keepers are intent on helping the students of Kidz Express by building their confidence and self-esteem. Role modeling and sharing life experiences has been a key component to building strong bonds and relationships with the students and the mentors. The Village Keepers is also striving to teach students about budgeting, interviewing techniques, and college planning. To help the students with their health and wellness issues we are engaged in providing nutritional meals on a daily basis.

Committed to Giving Back

Education is a key initiative of The Village Keepers. To support college or trade school bound students from Kidz Express, the Sterling M. Sullivan Scholarship program was established to enhance educational opportunities.

The Village Keepers feel the future is bright if every community can come together and create a village that helps all kids develop and prosper. Supporting kids, families and each other is important to our future.
